Medical Display Monitor Market

Why will Demand for Medical Display Monitors Soar in Latin America in Coming Years?

The rising incidence of chronic diseases, such as cancer and heart diseases, is fueling the demand for medical display monitors. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are responsible for the deaths of 17.9 million people every year. The organization also found that cancer claimed the lives of around 10 million people in 2020. Moreover, skin (non-melanoma), stomach, prostate, colon and rectum, lung, and breast were the most common types of cancers in 2020.

The Getinge Group, which is a leading developer of medical technology, deployed its 1,000th hybrid OR in November 2017. Additionally, the rapid advancements being made in hybrid OR technologies, such as surgical robots, electrosurgical technologies, and wireless C-arm, are predicted to develop an efficient work environment for surgeons. The development of such advanced technologies will also propel the advancement of the medical display monitor market. According to the estimates of the market research company, P&S Intelligence, the value of the market will surge from $2.1 billion in 2017 to $2.8 billion by 2023.

Geographically, the demand for medical display monitors is currently the highest in North America. In the coming years, the sales of these devices are expected to soar in Latin America (LATAM). The emergence of advanced diagnostic imaging technologies is fueling the requirement for medical imaging devices, which is, in turn, boosting the sales of medical display monitors in the region. As per a report produced by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) in 2017, in Brazil, the population of people aged 65 years and above will surge to around 58 million by 2050.

Hence, the demand for medical display monitors will surge sharply in the upcoming years, mainly because of the rising incidence of chronic diseases, soaring use of hybrid OR technologies, and burgeoning requirement for surgeries and diagnostic procedures across the world.
